It started with a TV manual.
At ten years old, Joana picked up a television instruction booklet and noticed it was printed in several languages. She had already caught snatches of Italian, Spanish, French, and German on the radio — songs whose sounds she didn’t fully understand but couldn’t stop imitating.
So instead of skipping the unfamiliar pages, she sat down and tried to make sense of them: reading each word, then quietly imitating how it might sound. That curiosity never went away.
Decades later, she founded Aires Learning Pro to help learners speak European Portuguese with confidence. Her approach puts conversation first from lesson one, with a focus on pronunciation, cultural context, and feedback that turns knowledge into real-life fluency.
